This year ISH 2023 is to be held under the motto, ‘Solutions for a sustainable future’. For five days, everything at the world’s leading trade fair for HVAC + Water will revolve around innovations that contribute to achieving climate-protection targets and a responsible and efficient use of resources.

New refrigerant gas types will be one of the drivers of the exhibition for the HVAC industry. The CO2 reduction targets among with local government actions to accelerate the energy transition process lead the way for a massive electrification of the buildings all accross europe, with special emphasis on heating loads as responsible for a consistent percentage of CO2 generation. The management of constant energy growing needs in combination with no-programmable generation coming from renewables will be challenging for our grid network in the years to come.

The HVAC industry in europe will need to set up strategies to keep up with the increasing demand of units, At the same time, the new energy sharing schemes will stimulate the development of new communication technologies and more integrated solutions to unlock renewables potential.

SCOUTEC will be present in the exhibition along with GSI, an Italian Heat Pumps Manufacturer. The range of machines will be represented by two new entries: DOMINA, a fully-integrated ASHP & AHU specially developed for nZEBs, SETA, a molten-salt energy storage system ready for retrofit installation and BEETLE, a high-efficiency industrial air conditionner sized for large rooms.

DOMINA is a compact fully integrated generator suitable for modern residential developments. The DOMINA system integrates all of the equipment required for temperature and air quality management within buildings. As a result of ten years of research and development in cooperation with academic institutions, Italian and Swiss research organizations, and certification agencies, the most advanced mechanical and electronic technologies have been embedded in DOMINA At the global "BIOSPHERA project," all of these technologies were tested.

SETA is an innovative electrical storage system that employs molten-salt batteries (of the sodium metal chloride type). It has been conceived to be coupled with renewable source power generating systems such as photovoltaic systems. It has been designed as a complete energy storage system with the purpose of increasing self-sufficiency and lowering utility bills for residential properties but also small commercial and industrial

BEETLE is a reversible high efficiency industrial air conditioning unit specifically to accommodate the heating and cooling demands of large rooms, spaces, working areas, and facilities in particular. Its working strategy focuses on maintaining an optimal balance between silence, air quality, temperature, and climate conditions. These units are ideal for industrial buildings that experience sudden temperature variations. Such fluctuations require a prompt and regulated counterbalance in order to keep the environmental conditions as stable as possible

All the units are outfitted with an advanced control system capable of interfacing with a wide range of compatible heating and cooling equipment, and are equipped with full inverter technology. Circulation pumps, valves and compressors are controlled by electronic drivers that constantly adjust their functioning to reduce power consumption and boost efficiency.

A BUS connection allows the system to communicate with other devices. The platform developed by GSI makes it possible to monitor and operate the whole system as well as configure the machine and heating system completely and easily. The heat pump continuously modifies its operating conditions to match the specified set temperature with the least amount of energy usage thanks to an optimized working strategy.

A sophisticated SW-HW renewable energy tracking system – AIER – is also available on all the units. This technology monitors the excess of energy coming from PV systems and adapts the operation of the machine to increase the self-consumption of renewable energy.

The control system is ready to actively engage with an aggregated coordination of energy assets. It is also ready to work in combination with SETA, the innovative fully-integrated PV-inverter & ESS energy manager by GSI.
